Installfest is an opportunity to get some help installing Linux (or some other free OS) on your own computer. If you've been wanting to work at home (instead of the labs), if you want to learn something (for a change), or if you're sick of blue screens of death (and wish they were some other colour), we can help you.
All you need to do is send an email to compsoc.installfest and tell us that you're coming. Then bring your computer to the Oboe lab this Saturday between 11am and 5pm (come early if possible). Monitors, mice and keyboards will be provided.
Installfest is a free service for CSE students. We will be selling CDs for $10 per 3-disc set - Debian 3, Redhat 9, and Mandrake 9.1 are available. We will provide other free OSs, such as Knoppix, Slackware, FreeBSD, NetBSD or OpenBSD, on request.
If you think you have what it takes to help us, please mail compsoc.installfest and tell us you're coming; we need volunteers!
