should be a good alternative to rh/mandrake. reaons follows...

 

knoppix should be a good alternative to rh/mandrake. reaons follows:
  • lab machines use it
  • have kde, which is pretty import for newbies
  • debian based: smooth upgrades (assuming you not going to pay year for rhn)
  • debian based: this is what majority of CSE CS/SENG/CE students end up using anyway
  • did I say debian is one of the best Linux distribution around?
