I'm often asked the same questions, so here's yet another place that points to answers.

Hope it helps!

Posted on Thu Feb 26th, 2004 at 10:16:22 PM EAST

Lab 0 is a chance for all first year students to get aquainted with the CSE labs, learn how to use their accounts and learn some of the tips and tricks to making their computing environment more paletable :-)

Lab 0 will be run on:

Friday 5 March (Week 1)
11:00am - 4:00pm
in the labs in front of the CSE helpdesk (ME undercroft)

If you're a first year student, keep an ear open in lectures for more information, you can sign up for lab0 in front of the CSE school office (ground floor, K17) from Monday to Wednesday in week 1.

The material used for Lab0 is available here: The CompSoc Survival Guide and The Exercises

Lego night coming soon!!

By tom, Section Events
Posted on Wed Oct 1st, 2003 at 09:39:37 AM EAST
Hi, I'm Tom (or Mario/Superman/Buffaro) if you saw the revue)

I'm organising a Lego night in the K17 seminar room on a Thursday sometime between now and end of session. I'm not really sure what's happening right now so email me if you've got any ideas for stuff you'd like to do. Hopefully we'll be able to get stacks of lego and several RCX bricks (from Richard I guess) to use for making killer robots or whatever.

So basically, email the lego organisers if you're interested, and definately if you have any ideas. It can be everyone making one big thing, a few smaller projects, or just game on with a whole bag of lego for a night (oh how fun!)
